Sr Software Developer

Position: Senior Software Developer
Brief Description: Design, code, and test networking middleware and applications. Provide instruction and support for customer application developers. Troubleshoot network problems.

Requirements:

7 years experience in software development
C (Unix and Windows)
Scripting (Unix shell, Windows batch, and at least one high-level scripting language such as perl, python, etc.)
Network programming (sockets)
Multi-threaded experience a strong plus

Position: Software Developer
Initial Assignment: Design and code software to exercise and test our product features, and to measure product performance. Integrate with automated test framework.

BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Knowledge Base Editor

Position: Knowledge Base Editor
Initial Assignment: Editor is responsible for the ongoing excellence of the 29West knowledge base used by customers and partners. Editor will create content and edit content supplied by development and support engineers. Knowledge base includes product FAQs, support issues, application notes, etc.

Editor is responsible for the maintenance of internal (wiki) customer technical profiles and 29West product implementation details. Content supplied by sales personnel, 29West partners and support engineers.

Requirements:

2 years minimum technical writing/editing experience in IT
Understanding of web-based documentation technologies and practices
Team oriented individual focused on customer needs

Skills/Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communication
Proficiency in structuring, writing and editing technical information
Ability to work independently

Familiarity with any of the following is a plus.

Internetworking concepts and technologies
Messaging software libraries
General programming practices and experience
Object oriented programming
Structured information, content management, XML, DITA
Multi-language documentation
Information searching concepts
